5th ENCATC & 1st TACPS ACADEMY: International Cultural Relations: New Initiatives in Taiwan, East Asia, US and Europe

Built into the 2015 International Symposium “Cultural Trajectories: Cultural Governance, What’s Next?”, the 5th ENCATC & 1st TACPS Academy is an intensive learning program focusing on culture in external relations in East Asian countries and their relationships with US, European countries and the European Union. Academics, researchers, cultural professionals, policy makers and artists in East Asia, US, Europe and beyond will discuss different uses and understandings of culture in external relations, including the fostering of transcontinental cooperation, mutual understanding and engagement. Taiwan businesses This peer-to-peer program will reinforce international professional networks and establish a strong foundation for future collaborations, projects and partnerships between operators in Asia, US and Europe.

This edition of the ENCATC Academy is being organized with ENCATC, the leading European network on cultural policy and management, Goldsmiths, University of London, National Taiwan University of Arts, and Taiwan Association of Cultural Policy Studies; co-organized with the Association of Arts Administration Educators, Asia-Pacific Network Cultural Education and Research. This event is co-funded by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union.

「2015文化的軌跡:文化治理 What’s Next?國際研討會」之際,ENCATC暨台灣文化政策學院「國際文化關係:台灣、東亞與歐洲的新倡議」為題,聚集東亞、歐美,乃至世界各地學者、研究人員、文化專業工作者、政策制定者及藝術家等,探討文化在對外關係中不同的作用及理解,促進跨洲的文化合作、互相理解與交流。

The program will include stimulations and interactive exercises, workshops, discussions and group work.


The program will be conducted in English and translation will not be provided. Therefore, the participants are expected to have a good level of spoken English.

Application Process 

Approximately 30-40 applicants will be selected for the 1.5-day workshop.



Selection Criteria:

Please note, applicants will be chosen by the Organizers internally, with these common basic criteria:

  • Over 20 years old;
  • Academics/Researchers; or Cultural practitioners and professionals; or Experts from public cultural sectors, third sectors; or Representatives from national and international organizations;
  • Involved in organization or profession related to international cultural relations, exchanges;
  • Be able to attend the entire 1.5-day program;
  • Ability to communicate and work in English;

How to Apply:

If you meet the criteria, please complete your application for the program by clicking the link below. Applications must be submitted no later than November 1st, 2015.
Results of the selection process will be announced on website ( and applicants will be notified of their selection status by November 5th. All selected applicants must confirm their participation and complete their registration payment before November 9th in order to attend the program.
